Embrace Your Negative Outcomes

If you ever entertained negative thoughts you know that they never bring about any solutions or a sense of peace. Whenever you are stuck thinking about what could’ve and should’ve been but didn’t happen, you will find yourself dealing with a helpless cycle of futility. The only thing you can get out of that is punish yourself emotionally for what could’ve and should’ve been but didn’t happen. Not exactly the type of thinking that will help you achieve a sense of peace and satisfaction in life.

Positive thinking, on the other hand, uses what could’ve or should’ve been as stepping stones to turn a negative outcome into a successful one. To think positively is to understand that a bad outcome is far more important than a successful one. By experiencing a negative outcome you learn what not to do and, as a result, you learn how to do things right next time around.

As such, next time you find yourself dwelling on what could’ve and should’ve been consider the fact that such thoughts are not going to let you appreciate the value of your negative outcome. Understand also that to be able to let go and move on to achieve a sense of peace and satisfaction, feeling confident that the same event will not result in a negative outcome, you will need to find value in what you thought was a bad thing.
